TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The University of San Diego golf team improved in day two of the NCAA Regionals, shooting a 295 at the Golden Eagle Country Club (par-72, 6995 yards) in Tallahassee, Fla. The Toreros sit in 12th place with the final 18 holes to be played tomorrow.
Alex Chiarella led the Toreros for the second straight day, shooting a two-under 70. Joe Carlson matched his performance from the previous day and finished with an even par for the second time in as many days.
Taylor Schmidt shot a 76 (4-over), while Grant Forrest and Mathias Dahl each shot a 77.
North Florida continues to hold the lead with a team score of 549 (-27; 272, 277). Washington is in second after shooting a team-best 275 in day two. North Florida's MJ Maguire maintained his lead amongst individuals after shooting a four-under 68 (133; 65, 68).
The Toreros will be paired with Iowa and North Carolina State tomorrow with the first Toreros teeing off at 5:20 a.m. on Hole 10.
