HIGH SCHOOL: Played baseball at Los Gatos High School...as a senior he hit .450...as a junior he hit .200...as a sophomore he hit .370 and was named first-team All-De Anza League...as a freshman he hit .380. PERSONAL: Matthew Bergandi was born on Sept. 23, 1994 in Chicago, Ill....he is the son of Frank and Terri Bergandi...was also recruited by Stanford, Santa Clara and Pepperdine...chose to attend USD because of the beautiful campus, the outstanding baseball program and the academic reputation of the university...his twin brother Joey is also on the USD baseball team.
