Alvaro Escalada completed his third year with the Torero golf program
He competed in four tournaments (13 rounds) and finished with a scoring average of 76.3 strokes per round
His top finish was a tie for 39th at The Farms Invitational
He fired a season-low 69 in the opening round of the NIT Tournament in Tucson, Arizona

SOPHOMORE (2016-17)

He competed in two tournaments and finished with a scoring average of 76.8 strokes per round
Competed in the Fighting Irish Golf Classic (low round of 71) and the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic (low round of 77)

FRESHMAN (2015-16)

During his freshman campaign he appeared in seven tournaments and finished the season with a scoring average of 76.5 strokes per roundHis best finish was a tie for 23rd at the Farms Collegiate Invitational
His low round was a 71 at the Watney Invitational where he would finish 64th

HIGH SCHOOL

Originally from Madrid, Spain, Alvaro resided in Montverde, Florida where he attended the Montverde Academy in 2014-15
Ranked 23rd for his class in Florida, he placed 1st at the Callaway World Qualifier, 3rd at the FCWT Tour Championship, and 5th at the AJGA - Golf Pride/David Ledbetter Junior Classic
He belongs to the Real Federacion de Golf de Madrid where he won a national championship and also represented them in many individual tournaments throughout his amateur career
During high school he played in the USA for the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy playing many junior events around the USA and Mexico, but mainly in Florida

PERSONAL

Alvaro has played golf since he was 8 years old and has represented Real Club de la Puerta de Hierro (Madrid, Spain) on many occasions
In addition to golf, he enjoys soccer, tennis, surfing, rugby and horse riding
Besides the golf program, he chose USD for its Business and Finance program, location and great weather
He notes he was also recruited by Central Florida and Rice University
