USD Takes on Competition at Barona Collegiate Cup

San Diego, CA- The San Diego golf team competed in the Barona Collegiate Cup at the Barona Creek Golf Course in nearby Lakeside on both Monday and Tuesday. San Diego's overall team score was (306-311-303; 920), good for 18th place during the three-round competition. Jimmy Harris (El Cajon, CA) led the Toreros for the second straight tournament with scores of (78-73-77; 228). His second round score of 73 was the lowest single round score posted by a Torero throughout the two-day event. San Diego's Jeb Stewart fired a 75 during Tuesday's final round to finish with a (77-79-75; 231). UTEP's Chris Baryla won the individual title with scores of (69-63-67; 199). Baryla's score was not enough to give UTEP the overall team championship, with those honors claimed by Colorado State (273-282-281; 836).
