(Del Mar Country Club; Rancho Santa Fe, CA) - In final round action Tuesday at the Del Mar Country Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Utah shot a combined 3-under par to claim the team title over Portland by six strokes. The host USD Toreros placed sixth out of the 16 schools competing at the 16th annual University of San Diego Invitational.

San Diego (634; +38) saw Preston Lancaster place 8th overall after firing a one- over 73 in final round action Tuesday. Portland's Mike McCabe (+1; 217) won the individual title by six shots. Other notable Torero finishes... Yen Chen shot a one-over 73 Tuesday to place in a tie for 9th overall. Nick Manfre shot a 76 in second and third round action to finish in a tie for 19th. Tim Cuerton (+19; 235); Mark Helper (+20; 236); Brian Teaff (+20; 236) round out the top six San Diego finishers.

After very windy conditions during both rounds Monday, a slight breeze and sunshine at the Del Mar Country Club allowed the 89-man field more comfortable weather Tuesday.
