(Lompoc, CA; La Purisima G.C.) -- The University of San Diego men's golf team is competing at the Bite/Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, hosted by UC Santa Barbara. Through two rounds the Toreros find themselves in 20th place out of the 21 competing teams. Fresno State and UC Irvine are both tied for first with two-round team scores of 555. San Diego shot a 592 (292-300). The third and final round will be played April 1st beginning at 6:45 am.
USD is being paced by Tim Cureton (T62nd at 146; 71-75), Jimmy Harris (T68 at 147; 73-74), Preston Lancaster (T87th at 150; 76-74), Michael Shelly (T91st at 151; 74-77) and Jeb Stewart (T99th at 156; 74-82). The two-round leader is Nick Watney of Fresno State who has a two-round total of 131 (67-64), 13 under par.
