Toreros Begin Season On Road

Jan. 21, 2004

The University of San Diego men's tennis team, under the direction of 8th-year head coach Tom Hagedorn, begin their 2004 Spring Schedule this coming weekend with road matches at Florida State on Thursday and Tulane University on Saturday. The Toreros, ranked 41st in the ITA Preseason Poll, will get a chance to move up immediately by taking on No. 32 Florida State and No. 16 Tulane.

USD is paced by sophomore Pierrick Ysern who heads into the spring season ranked No. 11 in the nation. More than likely he'll face FSU's Matt Cloer, ranked No. 29 in the nation, and Tulane's 8th-ranked Michael Kogan.

Thursday's match in Tallahassee, Florida will begin at 4:00 p.m. (EST), while Sunday's match in New Orleans, LA will begin at 3:00 p.m. (EST).

The Toreros will then return home to host the WCC Challenge (Feb. 6-8).
