USD's 5,100-seat Jenny Craig Pavilion will be the site for the 2005 and 2006 Boys' and Girls' Toyota Basketball Championships, it was announced today by CIF-San Diego Section Commissioner Dennis Ackerman. Under the terms of the two-year agreement, ten boys and girls' championship games will be played over two days, beginning in March 2005 and again in March 2006.

We're really excited about hosting the championships at the Jenny Craig Pavilion," said Dennis Ackerman. "We've enjoyed the last couple of years having our Tipoff Classic at the Jenny Craig Pavilion, and we'll do that again this year. We'll model the championship games like the state playoffs with four games on Friday and four games on Saturday morning and afternoon. Then we'll clear the arena for the evening championship contests."

Added Josh Lawrence, USD's Director of the Jenny Craig Pavilion, "We are excited to be able to showcase San Diego high school basketball in our venue. We look forward to working with Dennis and the CIF-San Diego Section and in helping them put on a first class event."
