Senior defensive captain Josh Brisco (Tucson, AZ) was named this week's Hughes Insurance Player of the Game for his performance in the team's pivotal 37-0 win at Drake. Additionally, he was rewarded by being named the PFL Defensive Player of the Week. Brisco finished the day with nine tackles (5 solo), including a tackle for loss, a forced fumble, and two pass breakups. Brisco's forced fumble came at the two-yard line of a critical third-and-goal situation that pushed Drake's offense back to the seven-yard line. Then on fourth-and-goal he knocked down a pass in the corner of the end-zone to end the threat. The Torero defense held Drake's Scott Phadavong, who entered the game as the No. 2 rusher in I-AA, to just 51 yards (101 yards below his average).
