Josh Johnson, USD's outstanding junior quarterback, was named the Hughes Insurance Player of the Game after leading the Toreros to a 44-21 win over Morehead State. Johnson completed 11-of-23 passes for 202 yards and 3 touchdowns, and added 80 yards rushing on 9 carries. The "Payton Watch" candidate continues to rank nationally in six I-AA statistical categories - 1st in points responsible for (25.0 ppg); 2nd in total offense (317.3 ypg); 2nd in passing efficiency (176.4 rating); 4th in total passing yards (2,096); 4th in passing yards per game (262.0); and 12th in passing (19.13 completions per game). He is now 19-1 as a starter calling the Torero signals.
