Junior quarterback Josh Johnson (Oakland, CA) was named the Hughes Insurance Player of the Game for his outstanding performance in the team's 43-17 road win at Yale on September 16th. Against the Elis he completed 28-of-35 passes for 345 yards and four touchdowns, and also ran for 70 yards, including an impressive 46-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. His touchdown passes went for 20, 57, 3 and 15 yards with junior WR Wes Doyle hauling in three of them, and TE Mitch Ryan catching the 3-yarder. Besides earning this team award, Johnson was tabbed the PFL Offensive Player of the Week; the Sports Network I-AA co-Offensive Player of the Week; Don Hansen's I-AA National Player of the Week; I-AA.org All-Star of the Week; and a candidate for USA Today National Player of the Week.
