(San Diego, CA) - After conducting a nationwide search for the position, the University of San Diego has hired Stephane Rochet as Director of Athletic Performance. He has been a Strength Coach at UC-Riverside, Indiana University, UCLA and at the Western Regional Training Center. Rochet obtained the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification in 1998 from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He has also completed and taught the USA Weightlifting Club Coaches Course. Stephane Rochet has coached a variety of athletes, including special forces and law enforcement personnel with an emphasis on functional training for athletic performance.
He has a Masters Degree in Sports Administration from Ohio University (1998), and completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Calgary (1995) where he was a member of the Basketball team. He is replacing Shannon Turley, who took a similar position with Stanford University.
