SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The 2007-2008 Torero Spirit Team returned to campus last week to begin training and attended a camp put on by the Universal Dance Association August 10-12 at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

The team trained intensively for three days alongside some of the best dance and cheer teams in the country. The 28 Torero spirit team members participated in several evaluations while at camp, including an evaluation on the team's performance of the USD fight song. They succeeded in bringing home a superior trophy, as well as recognition, for attention to tradition, choreography, and the team's overall performance of the USD fight song. They were evaluated against such teams as UNLV, UC Davis, and St. Mary's. The team also brought home a superior trophy for quality work ethic and overall improvement over the course of the camp.

The team has returned to USD to continue training in preparation for the upcoming Torero football season. We have a talented and outstanding team this year, and are very proud of their performance and hard work!
