Men's Basketball Single Game Tickets On Sale Now

Oct. 2, 2008

Single game tickets for the upcoming 2008-09 University of San Diego men's basketball season are on sale now through the Jenny Craig Ticket Office (619.260.7550) or by visiting the USD Toreros athletics website at www.usdtoreros.com. The USD men, coming off a 22-14 season that saw them win the WCC Tournament title and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, will play an attractive fifteen game home slate at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. Single game tickets are $16 for the sideline, $14 for the baseline and $8 for youth ages 4-12. Full season ticket packages start at $175.

Non-conference home games will pit the Toreros against Nevada (Nov. 18), San Diego Christian (Nov. 29), San Jose State (Dec. 8), New Mexico (Dec. 10), Academy of Art University (Dec. 19), Boise State (Dec. 22) and Marshall (Jan. 2). USD is also offering a special West Coast Conference Weekend Ticket Package that includes three Saturday WCC games and USD's first-ever ESPN Bracket Busters contest on February 21st. The only way to purchase a ticket now for the always popular USD-Gonzaga game on Saturday, February 28th, is to buy either the WCC Weekend Package (LMU, USF, Bracket Busters, Gonzaga) for $50, or a Season Ticket package.

"We're excited about the interest and demand for season tickets due to last year's success," said Steve Becvar, USD Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Sponsorships. "The home schedule is challenging with both the non-conference and conference games. Gonzaga is certain to sell out early and the only way we can guarantee our fans a game ticket is through a full season ticket package or the WCC Weekend ticket special."

USD's seven WCC home contests will be played in this order - Pepperdine (Jan. 15), Loyola Marymount (Jan. 17), Saint Mary's (Jan. 22), Santa Clara (Feb. 5), San Francisco (Feb. 7), Portland (Feb. 26), and Gonzaga (Feb. 28). USD's opponent for the ESPN Bracket Busters game on February 21st will not be announced until late January or early February. The Torero men open their season with a home exhibition contest against Cal State Los Angeles on Nov. 8th (6 pm).

The USD women's program, also coming off a strong season that saw them win the WCC Tournament title and advance to the NCAA Tournament, have put together an exciting 15-game home schedule. A season ticket package is available for $45, or game-day general admission tickets can be purchased. USD's non-conference slate includes contests against UC San Diego (Nov. 14), Cal Poly (Nov. 22), San Diego State (Nov. 25), Seton Hall (Nov. 28), UC Irvine (Nov. 30) and Cal State Fullerton (Dec. 20). The Toreros will take on Illinois-Chicago in the opening game of the Maggie Dixon Surf N Slam Classic on Dec. 28th, and then face either Long Island or New Mexico State on the 30th.

USD's WCC home slate will begin with San Francisco on Jan. 8th, and be followed by Santa Clara (Jan. 10), Portland (Jan. 29), Gonzaga (Jan. 31), Loyola Marymount (Feb. 12), Pepperdine (Feb. 14) and Saint Mary's (Feb. 21). USD's season begins on October 31st with a 7:00 p.m. contest against Point Loma Nazarene University.
