Toreros take part in Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair

April 28, 2010

This past Saturday, April 24th, Torero student-athletes from our men's basketball, women's soccer and swimming and diving teams took part in the annual Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair and Parade held on the 6900 block of Linda Vista road to celebrate 25 years of community togetherness.

To participate in the parade and engage with local residents and children of this wonderful community was a tremendous experience. This was about community engagement and being involved in our neighborhood. One of the greatest mixes of food, people and fun you will find in San Diego!

The Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair reflects cultural diversity and awareness and its importance in the San Diego community of Linda Vista. The annual Fair & Parade attract more than 15,000 attendees each year. The festivities include the Parade, live entertainment and music, children's activities, ethnic foods, crafts, informational booths and an Education Lane. The University of San Diego's Center for Community Service-Learning is a proud sponsor of the Education Lane at the 25th Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair. The Education Pavilion is an area of the fair designated for educational institutions and youth-based community initiatives to share information and activities about their organizations with parents and youth in the community. The Fair & Parade is planned and produced each year by community organizations and resident volunteers.
