Hank Egan Hall of Fame Photos
(San Diego, CA) - This past Saturday evening Hank Egan was officially inducted into the Chet and Marguerite Pagni Family Athletic Hall of Fame. The ceremony, which was held on campus in Shiley Theatre, was part of USD's annual Alumni Honors which commemorates the exceptional achievements of some of the school's most extraordinary alumni. Hank was one of nine individuals to be honored, and he becomes the 25th member of the Chet and Marguerite Pagni Family Hall of Fame.
Dinner under the lights was held afterwards next door on the Camino/Founders patio. Hank was the third honoree and before being presented his Hall of Fame trophy, an excellent video tribute that was produced by Tim McKernan (USD Marketing Creative Director) was shown. Following the video Hank was presented his Hall of Fame trophy by Reenie Pagni. His Hall of Fame plaque will be displayed in the Jenny Craig Pavilion foyer area along with the other 24 members.
Approximately sixty supporters of Hank were on-hand for the special evening, including his wife Judy, daughter Kelly with her husband Adam Michels, and three former USD assistant coaches that worked with Hank (Randy Bennett, Mike Legarza, Mike Haupt `89). Including Haupt who played for Hank for three seasons, a total of nine of his former players were in attendance, including Mike Brown '93 (LA Lakers head coach) and Chris Grant '94 (Cleveland Cavaliers General Manager).
Rounding out the group of former Egan players was Nils Madden '87, Stephen Krallman '87, Scott Thompson '88, Gylan Dottin '93, Geoff Probst '93 and Brooks Barnhard '94. Former Torero basketball players in attendance that did not play for Hank included John Rodee '63, Ted Peterson '78, Mike Stockhalper '81 and John Prunty '84.
