Hill Tabbed WCC Pitcher of the Week

May 11, 2015

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Junior right-hander David Hill of the University of San Diego baseball team has been named the Rawlings West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Hill collected the win Friday night, which helped propel the Toreros to a conference title with a series win against Pepperdine. On Friday, Hill (9-3) began the game by retiring the first 12 batters he faced to take a perfect game into the fifth inning before issuing as walk to the lead-off batter. The no-hitter was then broken up in the fifth, only to see Hill storm back, as he retired five of seven batters between the sixth and eight innings via the strikeout. In all, Hill allowed one run on two hits, while striking out 10 batters in his third complete game of the season.

Hill and the Toreros will return to action on Tuesday, as they head up to Long Beach State for a 6 p.m. non-conference game at Blair Field.
