FOOTBALL (10-3)
Last Time Out: The Toreros' spectacular season came to an end after last Saturday's 38-3 loss at No. 2 North Dakota State in the second round of the NCAA FCS Playoffs.
Need to Know: Jonathan Petersen became the FCS all-time leader in career sacks after collecting three against North Dakota State last Saturday. He finishes his career with 44.
No. 9 VOLLEYBALL (25-5)
Last Time Out: After beating LSU in the first round of the NCAA tournament 3-1 last Friday, the Toreros lost to 10th seeded USC in five sets the following day, ending their spectacular season with a 25-5 record.
Need to Know: The Toreros had won 15 consecutive matches before their loss at USC Saturday, rising all the way to No. 9 in the national polls. This was the second straight year the Toreros were ranked in the top ten.
MEN'S BASKETBALL (5-2)
This Week: Toreros will travel to New Mexico State on Wednesday, December 6th and will return home to play Northern Arizona at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening in the JCP.
Last Time Out: The Toreros' five-game winning streak came to an end with two consecutive losses against San Diego State (66-57) and UC Santa Barbara (67-57). Olin Carter III and Isaiah Pineiro each scored 14 points during the road game against UCSB.
Need to Know: The Toreros have three players averaging at least 13 points per game: Isaiah Pineiro (14.6), Olin Carter III (13.6) and Isaiah Wright (13.1).
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (5-3)
This Week: USD will play at No. 24 California on Thursday, December 7th, their fourth straight road game. After facing off against the Golden Bears, they will return home to take on Minnesota in the JCP this Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
Last Time Out: The Toreros had two tough losses last week, falling short in the final seconds at San Diego State (77-76) on Wednesday and then losing at Seattle (80-73) on Saturday.
Need to Know: USD is first in the WCC in steals, scoring defense and assists.
SWIM & DIVE
Next Time Out: USD is off until December 16th when they host Northern Arizona and Cal State East Bay at 10:00 a.m.
Last Time Out: Toreros secured a second overall finish at the Husky Invitational in Seattle last weekend. USD had top-10 finishes from multiple swimmers throughout the weekend and a record setting performance by junior Alex Hubel.
Need to Know: Alex Hubel smashed school records in both the 100 and 200 yard butterfly. Her 2:00.29 finish in the 200 fly broke a 17-year old USD record.
