Aug. 7, 2017 SAN DIEGO â€" The University of San Diego is excited to announce that
Greg Marsh has been named Assistant Director of Athletics for Strategic Communications, it was announced by
Marcy Lanoue, Senior Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs. Marsh joins the Torero Athletics family from Stanford University where he was with the Cardinal athletic department the past six years.
"We are excited to welcome Greg Marsh to our University of San Diego Athletics team," said Lanoue. "Greg comes to us with a wealth of knowledge, with industry best practices, that we look to implement here at USD. With the hiring of Greg, we will look to enhance our digital and communication strategy for our 17 varsity sports. We have received raving reviews across the nation, from coaches and athletic administrators about this hire. With all that being said, most importantly, Greg has the passion to serve our student-athletes and university at the highest level."
Marsh will lead the department's digital strategy and serve as the primary communications contact for multiple USD programs, including the women's and men's soccer programs starting this fall.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to share and amplify the accomplishments of USD teams, student-athletes, coaches and alums. I want to thank Senior Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs Marcy Lanoue and Associate Director of Athletics for Athletic Communications Ted Gosen for allowing me to take on this exciting new role."
Marsh comes to USD from Stanford University where he spent the past six years, most recently as the assistant director of communications. He was also a member of the department's Digital Strategy Committee, tasked with guiding the department's digital efforts. He was the primary contact for women's soccer, women's gymnastics and softball, and assisted with football and other Cardinal programs.
A native of Union City, California, Marsh graduated from Gonzaga University with a bachelor's degree in journalism in 2011. He and his wife, Alexa, reside in the North Park area of San Diego and are excited to be part of the Torero and USD family.
