WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (17-14)

This Week » The Toreros are headed to the WCC Tournament championship game on Tuesday at 1 p.m. against Gonzaga at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Last Time Out » The Toreros earned a dominating, 66-56, victory against Pacific in the semifinals to advance to the finals.

Need to Know » The Toreros last WCC title came nearly exactly 10 years ago when USD defeated Gonzaga, 70-66, at the Jenny Craig Pavilion in San Diego. It was the final season the WCC Tournament was held at WCC sites before moving the tournament to Las Vegas.

SOFTBALL (11-11)

This Week » San Diego will participate in the Wildcat Invitational this weekend in Tucson, Arizona. On Friday, USD will begin play against South Dakota at 10 a.m. PT before taking on No. 9/8 Arizona at 5 p.m. The Toreros will play South Dakota again on Saturday at 8 a.m., followed by USC Upstate at 10 a.m. USD will wrap up the weekend against Wisconsin 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Last Time Out » USD went 2-3 this past weekend at the San Diego Classic, beating Long Beach State, 2-0, and CSUN, 3-2, in nine innings. They lost to No. 22 Long Beach State, 2-0, No. 3 UCLA, 8-3, and Oregon State, 5-1.

Need to Know » Delaney Heller was named the WCC Pitcher of the Week.

BASEBALL (8-5)

This Week » USD will play a three game series at Houston with a game on Friday at 4:30 p.m., Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

Last Time Out » The Toreros hosted Indiana this weekend and went 1-3 overall.

Need to Know » Jay Schuyler leads the Toreros with three home runs and 12 RBIs on the season.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING

This Week » The Toreros head to the National Invitational Championships this Thursday through Saturday.

Need to Know » Mackenna Briggs, Kailyn Evans, Danielle Taylor and Alex Hubel teamed up for San Diego to earn a combined 16 All-MPSF honors.

WOMEN'S TRACK

This Week » The Toreros will compete at the OXY Distance Carnival on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Need to Know » This is the first race for USD's spring season.

MEN'S CREW

This Week » USD begins their two-day regatta this Sunday in Mission Bay against WCC opponents, Gonzaga, LMU and Santa Clara, along with UCSD. They will also compete next Monday, March 12.

Need to Know » The Toreros will compete against UCSD for a second time this season after falling to them in the City Championships.

WOMEN'S TENNIS (3-5)

This Week » The Toreros have two matches on tap this week. They will host Boston U. on Thursday at 1:30 p.m., followed by a home conference match against Saint Mary's on Sunday at 11 a.m.

Last Time Out » USD played host to Santa Clara on Friday afternoon and dropped a 4-2 decision.

Need to Know » Daniela Morales is on a three-set winning streak in singles play.

MEN'S TENNIS

This Week » USD will take on Gonzaga at The Santaluz Club in North County, San Diego on Sunday at noon.

Last Time Out » The Toreros dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 11 USC last weekend.

Need to Know » Holmgren highlighted the No. 36 Toreros (4-4) afternoon with a 4-6, 7-6 (8), 1-0 (10-3) victory against the Trojans (8-3) Brandon Holt who is ranked No. 8 in the nation. Holmgren has won five consecutive singles matches.

MEN'S BASKETBALL (18-13)

Last Time Out » USD battled through an emotional week and gave BYU all it could handle in the WCC Tournament but came up just short and fell, 85-79.

Need to Know » The Toreros' 18 wins is their most since the 2013-14 season and it is the first time USD has finished .500 or better in conference play since 2007-08.
