MEN'S BASKETBALL

Last Week » San Diego introduced Sam Scholl as the 13th head men's basketball coach in program history and sixth since the Toreros moved to the NCAA Division I ranks in 1979-80. Scholl boasts 18 years of coaching experience in the WCC, which is the fourth-most amount of experience among active coaches in the conference.

SOFTBALL (23-16, 2-1 WCC)

This Week » The Toreros will continue conference play at Santa Clara with games on Saturday at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., and Sunday at noon.

Last Time Out » USD played host to Saint Mary's last weekend, where they took two of three contests. They won twice on Saturday, 5-4, and again later that day with a score of, 3-0. They dropped their Sunday game, 6-4.

Need to Know »Taylor Spence moved into the top-10 all-time in program history in career hits. She ranks eighth in Torero history with 181 hits.



MEN'S GOLF

This Week » The Toreros are spending Monday and Tuesday in Palm Springs, to compete in the LMU Gieberger Invite.

BASEBALL (15-17, 6-6 WCC)

This Week » San Diego travels to UC Riverside on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. game. They return home to host Saint Mary's on Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

Last Time Out » The Toreros returned home after a long road stretch to host UC Irvine and fell, 2-1, in 11 innings. They resumed conference play over the weekend, hosting LMU for a three-game series. They lost the first game, 4-3, but won the final games, 11-4, and, 18-6.

Need to Know » Kevin Collard was named Rawling's WCC Player of the Week after going 8-for-19 last week with five runs, two doubles and a home run.



WOMEN'S TENNIS (10-8, 2-4 WCC)

This Week » The Toreros play two in a row this week, traveling to Pepperdine on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and Loyola Marymount on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Last Time Out » San Diego defended their home court last week against Long Beach State on Friday, 4-1, and against San Francisco on Saturday, 4-0.

Need to Know » The Toreros earned their fourth shutout win of the season on Saturday.

MEN'S TENNIS (10-8, 4-1 WCC)

This Week » San Diego returns home this week for a 1 p.m. Thursday match against Pepperdine and again Sunday against LMU at for 1 p.m.

Last Time Out » The Toreros split a pair of decisions in the Bay Area last weekend, defeating San Francisco, 4-1, and falling at Santa Clara, 4-0.

Need to Know » Alex Araouzos has won four consecutive singles matches at the No. 5 position.

MEN'S CREW

This Week » The Toreros are spending Saturday in Philadelphia to compete at the Kerr Cup.

Need to Know » The Kerr Cup is the final regatta outside of California for the Toreros this season.

WOMEN'S ROWING

This Week » The Toreros will travel north to Lake Natoma to compete in the Lake Natoma Invite on Saturday and Sunday.
