2020 Schedule Released

FULL 2020 SCHEDULE

SAN DIEGO—San Diego is pleased to announce the release of its 2020 baseball schedule. The Toreros schedule features 55 games, including nine games against four teams that participated in the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
 
USD will open the season with 18 nonconference games and will participate in two tournaments. The season begins Feb. 14 when the Toreros travel to Tempe, Ariz. for the Los Angeles Angels College Classic.
 
Teams participating in the tournament, which will take place at the Angels' spring training facility (Feb. 14-16), include Pepperdine, Oregon and Minnesota.
 
The following week, the Toreros will play host to UC Irvine on Feb. 18 for their home opener in Fowler Park. USD will travel to face the Anteaters later in the season on May 5.
 
San Diego will co-host the annual Tony Gwynn Legacy event with San Diego State, Feb. 21-23. Teams participating in the city tournament include Southern Illinois, Arizona, Nebraska, Iowa and Seattle U. USD will face a 2019 NCAA tournament participant in Nebraska on Feb. 21.
 
The Toreros will travel to Long Beach State on Feb. 25 for their first true road game of the season and host the 49ers later in the year (April 28).
 
San Diego will play host to an international opponent, Keio University from Tokyo, Japan on Feb. 27, followed by a three-game series with Monmouth (Feb. 28-March 1).
 
To wrap up their early nonconference slate, the Toreros will travel to play Indiana State (March 3) before a four-game series at Indiana (March 6-8). Both teams made an appearance in the NCAA Regionals last season.
 
California Baptist will come to Fowler Park on March 10 before the Toreros begin conference play on March 13 at Portland.
 
In WCC play, USD will host Loyola Marymount, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's and Santa Clara and travel for conference series at Portland, Pepperdine, BYU, Pacific and San Francisco.
 
San Diego will play an additional 10 nonconference games in the second half of the season. The Toreros will travel across town to face city rival San Diego State on March 24 before hosting the Aztecs on April 21.
 
USD will host Chicago state on March 18 and additional home-and-home series include Cal State Fullerton, UC Riverside and UC Irvine. USD will close out the regular season at California Baptist (May 12).
 
The Toreros return the majority of their position starters from last season and add a talented incoming class to their 2020 lineup. USD finished just shy of the WCC Tournament last season, with a sixth-place conference finish in 2019.
