SAN DIEGO – No. 31 San Diego will compete in its ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament when it travels to Los Angeles, California, to take on No. 38 Minnesota on Friday at 10 a.m. PT.
 
The winner of the match between the Toreros (20-4) and the Gophers (16-9) will take on either No. 8 USC or Northern Arizona on Saturday at 3 p.m.
 
USD earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament after winning its sixth consecutive West Coast Conference Tournament title. USD will compete in its ninth straight NCAA Tournament and 16th all-time.
 
USD has advanced to the second round of the tournament nine times - most recently last year when the Toreros defeated Texas Tech, 4-2, in the first round at UCLA. USD dropped its following match to UCLA, 4-0.
 
The Toreros won their fifth WCC regular-season title in the past six years when it compiled an 8-1 record.
