SAN DIEGO -Â Twenty-one FCS players, including
Muhindo Kapapa of the University of San Diego football team, have joined the watch list of the 2022 Buck Buchanan Award, which Stats Perform presents to the national defensive player of the year in college football's Division I subdivision.
Through six games this season, Kapapa has 29 tackles, six sacks, 9.5 TFL, two forced fumbles, three QB hurries, and a blocked kick. His six sacks lead the PFL, while his 9.5 TFL rank second behind teammate
Jacob Saewitz.Â
Kapapa joined San Diego ahead of the 2018 season, and has played in 37 games. In his career, the graduate student has 111 tackles (57 solo), 15 sacks, 27 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and two blocked kicks.
