SAN DIEGO— Following a strong finish to the 2024-2025 campaign in which the San Diego women's swimming and diving team finished second overall at the 2025 MPSF Championships, the Torero program is excited to announce that 20 of the team's student-athletes were honored as All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation selections.
In total, San Diego had eight individuals selected to the All-MPSF First Team while 16 Toreros earned All-MPSF Second Team honors with multiple athletes earning selections to both teams following a strong 2024-25 season.
It was complete San Diego domination in the 200 backstroke category as the entire first team was an all-Torero trio with Skylar Bruner (2:00.84) leading the way in first place followed by Penelope Leonard (2:01.92) and Milan Bever (2:02.70).
USD was first overall in multiple races with Bruner topping the 200 Backstroke (2:00.84), 500 Freestyle (4:58.24) and 1,650 Freestyle (17:09.49) races, along with Catherine Dueck leading the 200 Individual Medley (2:03.86).
The Toreros excelled in the diving events as well, claiming four of the top eight spots in both the one and three meter competitions.
Teamwork shined in the relays, earning second-team honors in four events: the 800 Freestyle Relay (7:29.01), 400 Freestyle Relay (3:25.22), 200 Freestyle Relay (1:33.16), and 400 Medley Relay (3:48.00).
