Assistant Athletics Director for Development


Zach Harris joined the USD athletic development team as Assistant Athletics Director for Development in August of 2017. In his role, he will work on building relationships with the Torero athletic community and focus on annual, major and planned philanthropic support.

Harris came to USD from Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania where he held the title of Director of Athletic Fundraising Programs and Major Gifts Officer. As part of the Major and Planned Gifts team, Zach developed long-term relationships with alumni, family and friends of Ursinus in order to help match philanthropic interests of donors with the College's identified campaign needs. He joined the Advancement Office at Ursinus in January 2015.

Prior to Ursinus, Zach served as the Director of Development for the College of Education at West Chester University, where he was responsible for all major gift fundraising initiatives. He also served on the Association of Fundraising Professional's "Next Generation" national board, comprised of fundraising professionals under the age of 30. Before WCU, Zach held multiple relationship management positions within the Philadelphia Phillies organization. He was a part of a sales team that helped the Phillies sell out a National League record 257 consecutive home games and lead Major League Baseball in attendance from 2010 to 2012.

He was an intern in the front office during the team's 2008 World Series championship run. Harris earned his B.S. degree in Marketing from Villanova University (2010), his MBA from the University of New Haven (2011) and is currently enrolled in the PhD program in Leadership Studies at USD. He resides in Linda Vista with his wife, Katie.
