Anna is the Head Coach of the University of San Diego Dance Team. She started dancing at the age 3 and was competing nationally in jazz, hip hop, acrobatics, and lyrical at age 8. She won numerous awards throughout her youth and high school dance career.
Anna is a University of San Diego alumni, and she danced for the University of San Diego Dance Team, which consistently placed in the top 5 of the Hip-Hop Division 1 category at USA Collegiate Dance Nationals. After graduating from the University of San Diego with a BA in Psychology, Anna stepped into the Pro Cheer and Dance world as a San Diego Charger Girl. She has worked with many esteemed choreographers such as Mina Ortega, Andy Vaca, Tabatha and Napolean, Denise Dicharry, and has danced for artists such as The Sugarhill Gang.
She decided to pursue her dance career further and received her teaching credential and Masters in Educational Leadership from National University. Anna has applied her graduate degree as a cheer and dance coach in the public high school setting. She is the founder of La Costa Canyon High School’s competitive dance program, which placed 1st in the Contemporary category and 2nd in the Hip-Hop category at West Coast Elite Nationals. Anna has coached and trained young dancers who have gone on to win soloist of the year at West Coast Elite Nationals, dance on the hit TV series World of Dance, and receive dance and cheer scholarships to prestigious colleges and universities. Anna was also the Head Coach and Choreographer for the La Costa Canyon Cheer team when they became the first ever high school cheer team to win the CIF Championships.
Anna continues to work with young dancers in the high school setting as a Visual and Performing Arts and Physical Education teacher. She also has experience working with collegiate athletes, as she trained under the former USD Dance Team Head Coach Nicole Demartini. Anna served as Nicole’s assistant for three years before taking over for her as Head Coach. Anna is looking forward to another successful season coaching the USD Dance Team.
