• 2nd fastest 8k in USD history - 25:10 (Bronco Invite, 10/17/15)

Junior (2014): Competed in five races during the fall... Ran a personal best time of 25:42 at the WCC Championships... Also ran in the Mark Covert Classic (27:38.4), the UC Riverside Invite (26:50.1), and the Bronco Invite (25:59.0)... Posted a time of 33:27 in the 10k at the NCAA West Regionals.

Sophomore (2013): Competed in two races during the fall; Mark Covert Classic (29:45) and Bronco Invite (26:41).

Freshman (2012): Named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.10 GPA... Raced in two events during the fall, clocking his best time at the Fullerton Invitational (27:40.1)... Also competed in the WCC Championships (74th place - 28:12).

High School: Attended Damien High School... Named first-team All-Sierra League and first-team All-San Gabriel Valley as a senior... Ran a 15:47 at the Mt. Sac Relays and a 15:17 3-mile his senior year... Won the Scholar Athlete Award and the Tom Hardy Award while serving as team captain as a senior... His team came in sixth in CIF SS D3 and eighth at State D3 while breaking the course records for team times at every course that season... Earned second-team All-Sierra League honors as a junior and won the Phillippides Award for overcoming adversity... Also participated in track and field, earning three varsity letters... Was team captain and won the George Boyle Award... Ran a 9:50 3200m while earning first-team All-Sierra League honors in that event... Qualified for CIF prelims.

Personal: Born December 25, 1993 in Upland, Calif.... Parents are Brendan and Patti Brandt... Chose USD for the great academic reputation and location... Was also recruited by Saint Mary's, San Francisco and Gonzaga.
