SOPHOMORE (2015)
- Competed in three races in the fall
- Finished the Bronco Invite 8k in 28:00
- Also raced in the Mark Covert Classic (28:54.69) and the Aztec Invite (31.03)
FRESHMAN (2014)
- Only raced in two meets in the Fall
- Clocked in at 29:15.6 at the Mark Covert Invite
- Finished in 30:35.1 at the WCC Championships
HIGH SCHOOL
- Attended Riverside High School where he ran for Coach Tim Hart & Dusty Patrick
- Was the team's captain in his senior year
- Finished in fourth place in the 800m at state (1:58.07)
- Part of 4x400m relay team that finished second in state and set a school record
- Helped his team finished in sixth place in state during his senior year
- In his junior year he finished in second in state in the 800m (1:58.50) and helped win the 4x400m relay
- Was named Most Inspirational in his junior year
- Was named the team's MVP during his sophomore year
- Helped the 4x400m relay team finish second in state during his sophomore year, while taking third in the 800m (1:58.90)
- Took eighth place in the 800m (2:02) during his freshman year
- Also competed in basketball during his freshman and sophomore years
PERSONAL
- Born in Oklahoma City to Teresa and Sean Owens
- Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Marine Option National Scholarship recipient to the University of San Diego
- Chose USD for the strong academics, Catholic identity, and the close proximity to the Navy & Marine bases
- Was also recruited by Northwest Christian, University of Mary, Hillsdale, Occidental, and Westminster
- Enjoys hunting, target shooting, and snowboarding
- Was class president his sophomore and junior year and was student body president his senior year
- National Honor Society president
- Has two aunts and uncles who competed in cross-country at Spokane Community College
- Has cousins currently playing volleyball at UNLV and soccer at Johnson & Wales University
- Has an uncle who played basketball for St. Vincent College
