- Attended Greenwich High School
- Helped his school win the Northeast Team Ponts Trophy all four years
- Placed third at the Canadian Henley in the U19 1V8+
- Won the 2V8 race at the Northeast Regional
- Recorded a fourth-place finish at the Head of the Charles Regatta in the Varsity 4
- Finished fifth at Youth Nationals in the 2V8
- High Honor Roll and Honor Roll winner in multiple quarters
PERSONAL
- Son of Ryan and Janet Murphey, born in Boston, Mass.
- Loves to go on runs, watch sunsets, find cool spots and restaurants in San Diego
- Enjoys grabbing brunch with his USD teammates, especially after a Sunday morning practice
