While on Georgetown[apos]s coaching staff, Brooklyn helped lead the men[apos]s team to 14-8 and 12-11 records - the first time in 10 years the squad posted a winning record. He also assisted in coaching the first two All-Big East conference players. Brooklyn also helped lead the Lady Hoyas to 15-8 and 16-6 records, along with their first-ever national ranking.

During Brooklyn[apos]s senior year at UCLA, he had a record of 17-6 in dual matches with an 11-8 showing against ranked opponents. The Bruins finished with a quarterfinal appearance at the NCAAs. Brooklyn[apos]s junior year, he was a second-team All-Pac-10 selection and ended the season ranked No. 64 nationally in singles posting a 22-13 overall singles record and going 10-7 in dual matches. He played No. 1 singles when the Bruins advanced to the Final Four. At UCLA, Brooklyn ranked as high as No. 29 among singles players nationally. As a senior, he participated in the NCAA singles individual championship.
[quote]We[apos]re very excited to have Matt here as a Torero. He is a great asset to this program given his experience at UCLA and ASU playing No. 1 singles and already coaching for a couple years at Georgetown,[quote] Coach Masi said. [quote]It will also be huge for us in recruiting some international players from England and that part of Europe given his connections.[quote]
Prior to UCLA, Brooklyn played at Arizona State, where he was the 2007 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and a first-team All-Pac-10 selection as a sophomore before ASU dropped their men[apos]s program.
Brooklyn is a 2006 graduate of Uxbridge College in Uxbridge, Middlesex (UK) and was born in London. He received his Master[apos]s degree in Sports Industry Management while at Georgetown.
