FRESHMAN (2008): Helped the Toreros receive a national ranking as high as No. 11...helped the team advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. FRESHMAN (2007): Redshirted at USD. HIGH SCHOOL: Earned one varsity letter in soccer playing for Matthew Chapman at Horizon High School...as a freshman, she was named first-team All-CIF, first-team All-Coastal League South and helped lead her team to the league-championship...was injured over the next three seasons.

PERSONAL: Melissa Maruca was born on September 3, 1988 in San Diego, Calif....she is the daughter of Vincent and Patricia Maruca...was also recruited by Cal Baptist, Humbolt State and San Diego State...chose to attend USD because it has always been a dream of hers to go to USD.
