HONORS AND AWARDS
- MPSF All-Academic Honors (2018)
FRESHMAN (2016-17)
- Finished the year with two season best times at the MPSF Championships: 100 free (57.76) and 500 free (5:29.22)
- Had four season best times at the Husky Invite: 100 back (1:04.64), 200 back (2:20.65), 100 fly (1:00.58) and the 200 fly (2:18.86)
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB
- Attended Montgomery High School where she earned four varsity letters
- Helped her 200 medley relay team make the finals at NCS
- Swam the 100 fly in 59.35 at the NBL Championships
- Was team captain her senior year
- Swam for the Neptune Swim Club
PERSONAL
- Born February 23, 1998 in San Francisco to Jennifer and Jay Ratcliffe
- The second she stepped on USD's campus she knew "it was a place she could leave home for"
- Her mother Jennifer swam at Whitworth College
- Her swim club, Neptune Swimming, had two alums swim at the 2016 Rio Olympics. One of which (Maya Dirado) won four medals, including two golds
- Notes she loves cats, baking, and watching YouTube
What is your most memorable swimming/diving moment? Why?
Sophomore year at our championships I had to time trial 100 fly to get a cut for NCS. I was sick, and had to swim alone in the pool, but everyone lined the pool to cheer me on. It was deafening loud, and I ended up getting a best time and the NCS cut.
Describe yourself as an athlete and as a student.
I work extremely hard in both academics and swimming because I'm passionate about both. Swimming allows me to be
competative and do what I love, and school allows me to learn about the world and all the amazing things in it.
What piece of coaching and/or personal advice has stuck with you over the years?
"Look from
lightpost to
lightpost- not the entire road in front of you"
