2005 San Diego team captain
Senior in 2004-05: Honored as a USD team captain... Posted a pair of USD top-3 times in the 100 and 200 yard Backstroke events... Also helped the Toreros post a season-best time in the 200 yard Medley Relay (1:49.50) at the 2005 WAC Championships... Placed in both the 100 Backstroke (59.65) and 200 Backstroke (2:09.92) at the conference championships- both season[apos]s best times for Scrutton and among the best times turned in by any Torero in those events during the season... Turned in a top-tier finish and was USD[apos]s top swimmer in the 100 Backstroke (1:00.76) at the 2004 Speedo Cup.
Junior in 2003-04: Clocked in at (1:00.11) to take 7th place in the 100 yard Backstroke at the PCSC Championship meet... Took another 7th place finish in the 200 yard Backstroke at the PCSC meet with a time of (2:10.20)... Her time of (2:09.47) in the 200 yard Backstroke was good enough for a 21st place finish at the Irvine Speedo Cup and was the 3rd best time of any Torero this season in that event... Also placed 11th in the 100 Backstroke (59.42) at the Speedo Cup... Placed 15th out of 27 swimmers in the 100 yard Backstroke at the UCSD Invite with a time of (59.42)... Placed 3rd in the 200 Backstroke (2:16.72) against LMU and had a 4th place finish in that event against UCLA (2:31.47).
Sophomore in 2002-03: Joined the team in October... Mainly competed in the 100 and 200 yard Backstroke... Posted personal best times in both events at the Speedo Cup in Long Beach.
Prep: Came to USD from Milwaukie, Oregon in the Portland area and La Salle High School... Named team MVP three times... Won the state championship in the 100 Backstroke and 200 IM for three consecutive seasons... Competed for the Oregon City club program.
Personal: Communications Studies major... Born on November 25, 1982 in Portland, Oregon... Daughter of Gary of Carolyn Scrutton... Chose to attend USD because of the location and small catholic atmosphere.
