Koevermans enters his first year as student assistant coach in spring 2020. He competed for the Toreros from 2016 to 2019.
 
Koevermans played for USD as a freshman in 2016-17 and then in 2018-19 after redshirting in between. In his redshirt sophomore season, he was All-WCC Honorable Mention in doubles with partner David Norfeldt as the two were 12-3 in dual matches, including 5-0 in WCC play. He also played No. 5 and 6 in singles. He also helped the Toreros win their sixth straight WCC Championship and reach the NCAA Tournament for the ninth year in a row.
 
Originally from Berkel en Rodenrijs, Holland, Koevermans won the National Netherlands Junior Doubles 18s Championship prior to coming to USD and was a two-time runner-up at the National Netherlands Junior Singles 16s Championships. His father, Mark, was a top-40 ATP player in 1990.
