Shane Duffy joined University of San Diego Athletics in September of 2023. He oversees marketing, game day experience, fan engagement, and student outreach for all of USD’s 17 sports. He also supervises the marketing intern team and spirit squads.
In his first year, Shane worked directly with Men’s Rowing, Women’s Rowing, Women’s Swimming & Diving, Men’s Cross Country, and Women’s Cross Country & Track programs as Assistant Director of Strategic Communications, overseeing and executing all aspects of their media relations, sports information, web, graphic design, and social media strategies while also contributing long-form feature articles for USDToreros.com.
Duffy graduated from USD in 2021 with a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Marketing. He returned to USD in 2023 after working in the non-profit sector from 2021-22, then doing marketing and content creation for Jackbox Games.
He is originally from Julian, California, a small town in San Diego county, where he graduated from Julian High School.
