Pierrick Ysern Advances To Main Draw of All-American

Oct. 8, 2003

(Chattanooga, Tennessee) - USD sophomore Pierrick Ysern (Paris, France), ranked 59th in the nation, won his second straight singles match in the qualifying rounds of the 2003 Icy Hot/ITA Men's All-American Championships to earn his way into the Main Draw Tournament. Ysern will not know his first round opponent until later this evening.

Ysern defeated Tomm Hanus of Northwestern, 6-1, 6-2. That win came after his first round victory over David Kowalski of New Mexico.

"Pierrick is playing well and is very focused right now," said 8th year Torero head coach Tom Hagedorn. "Obviously he is very excited about making the Main Draw tourney and getting the chance to play against some very good competition. Hopefully he'll be able to get a few more wins."
