SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego men's tennis team defeated the Eastern Tennessee State Buccaneers Thursday at the USD West Tennis Courts by a score of 4-2. San Diego, who is currently ranked 29th in the nation, extends their season record to 7-2 while the Buccaneers fall to 6-5.

In doubles action, San Diego clinched the point with wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Pierrick Ysern teamed up with Thomas Liversage to defeat ETSU's Oscar Posada and Juan Crosa by a score of 8-1 at the No. 1 spot. Senior Oscar Plotnick and junior Jonas Mouly clinched an 8-5 victory over Felix Insaurralde and Lisandro Picardo.

In singles action, senior Pierrick Ysern extended his undefeated season record with a 6-1, 6-2 defeat over Posada at the No. 1 spot. Ysern currently stands at No. 51 in the nation. USD also received victories from Oscar Plotnik at the No. 3 spot and Jonas Mouly at No. 6 singles. Thomas Liversage dropped his match to the Buccaneer's Insaurralde by scores of 3-6, 4-6 and Mirza Koristovic lost to ETSU's Enrique Olivares 4-6, 1-6. Ryo Sekiguchi's match versus Lisandro Picardo was called one point into the third set.

The Toreros next travel to Boise, Idaho where they will face No. 35 Boise State (March 4, 1:30 p.m.) and William and Mary (March 5, time TBA).
