SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego has announced that Wil Filamor has been promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer.
Filamor was hired in the fall of 2003 and his main sport assignments have been with Men's Soccer, baseball, men's golf, men's rowing and cross country. He has also traveled with men's basketball and works with all student-athletes on a daily basis. For 2007-2008 year, Filamor will travel with women's volleyball and baseball. Filamor is also in charge of ordering, tracking and monitoring all athletic training supplies as well as taking over a majority of the responsibility of the Athletic Training Students from the San Diego State University Undergraduate Athletic Training Professional Program.
Along with these responsibilities Filamor is an Approved Clinical Instructor (ACI) as part of the San Diego State Undergraduate Athletic Training Professional Program. As an ACI he supervises undergraduate athletic training students and teaches athletic training proficiency classes. Prior to USD Filamor was an Intern Athletic Trainer at UCLA, Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Cal State Fullerton, Summer Intern Athletic Trainer for the San Francisco 49ers Football Team, and Undergraduate Athletic Training Student at Cal State Fullerton.
Filamor is a 2000 graduate of Cal State Fullerton, where he earned his B.A. in Kinesiology with a concentration in athletic training, Filamor and his wife Lauren reside in San Diego.
