SAN DIEGO, Calif.- The University of San Diego men's tennis team posted an overall record of 7-5 on the second day of competition on Saturday at the San Diego State Fall Tennis Invite at Aztec Tennis Center. The Toreros went 6-4 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles on the day.

Torero sophomore Thibaut Visy came back from a pair of losses on Friday to win back-to-back matches on Saturday, beating UC San Diego's Sam Ling, 6-4, 6-3, and UC Riverside's Quoc Doan, 6-2, 6-0 in the consolation round of the A/B singles bracket.

Senior Nils Schive also won consecutive matches on the day, topping UC San Diego's Jason Wall in a competitive bout, 6-4, 7-5, and Austin West, 6-1, 6-2 in the C/D singles consolation bracket.

Freshman Clarke Spinosa went 1-1 on the day, recording a win over Jay Goldman of Arizona, 7-5, 6-4, followed by a loss to University of the Pacific's Artem Gramma, 6-3, 2-6, 10-8. Spinosa is 3-1 so far in singles on the weekend.

USD senior Abdullah Hashem split his two matches on Saturday, earning a 6-4, 2-6, 10-7 victory over UC San Diego's Junya Yoshida and a 6-4, 7-6(7) defeat at the hands of Michael Grant of USC.

After winning his first career match on Friday, freshman Emilio Mora lost both of his singles matches Saturday, falling to USC's Joel Giger, 7-6, 6-4, and Frank Chen of Arizona, 2-6, 6-4, 10-6.

The Toreros split their two doubles matches, with Spinosa and Schive tallying a 8-2 win over UC San Diego's Chapman Chan and Devon Sousa and Mora and Hashem losing to Grant and Giger of USC in a tight match, 9-8.

Play concludes on Sunday, with doubles beginning at 9 a.m. followed by singles action.
