SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego softball team will host their third annual Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, April 16. The Toreros will face Cal-State Bakersfield in a four-game series this weekend with Military families invited to take part in the action.
The USD Athletic Department has a strong relationship with the local military and take pride in honoring the men, women, and families any way they can to say thank you for your service and sacrifice.
Military Appreciation Day is open to all military personnel and their families with no registration required. Throwing out the first pitch will be Captain Ricky Williamson, Sergeant Ian Cromwell, and Sergeant Javier Rincon. The USS Makin Island Choir will perform the National Anthem. The Torero BBQ will be setup offering free meals to military families in attendance.
First Pitch is set for Noon on Saturday with the festivities beginning prior to first pitch, it is suggested to arrive early to get good seats.
