SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The women's basketball game between the University of San Diego and Brigham Young University scheduled for this Saturday at 2 p.m. will not have any Gametracker or live video stream due Information Technology Services initiating a major network upgrade. Fans can still get a live play-by-play of the game through a Listen Link on the USDToreros.com, with Paula Bott bringing fans all the live action.
San Diego enters the week with a 10-3 overall record, and they are 1-0 in the WCC after a thrilling 77-60 victory over last-year's WCC runner-up Saint Mary's College this past Saturday. The Toreros enter Monday's contest against Santa Clara with the second best start in program history, and a chance to match the best start at 11-3 with the 2006-07 team. WCC Player of the Week Dominique Conners paces the Torero offense as she is scoring an average of 16.2 ppg. Morgan Woodrow (15.3 ppg) and Amy Kame (11.9 ppg) are the two other Toreros averaging double figures. San Diego is under the direction of seventh-year head coach Cindy Fisher.
The Cougars enter the week with an overall record of 14-3 and they are 3-1 in the WCC after defeating the University of San Francisco, 76-67, this past Saturday to win their third consecutive game. BYU will host Pepperdine University this Thursday before traveling to San Diego on Saturday. The Cougars are 1-0 all-time against the Toreros with the only meeting between the two programs coming last season in Hawaii, a 70-44 win for the Cougars. BYU is led offensively by Kim Parker, who is scoring 11.2 ppg, while shooting .463 from the field. Kristen Riley is the only other Cougar averaging double figures at 10.4 ppg.
