The University of San Diego men's tennis team wrapped up matches at the National Collegiate Tennis Classic and Sherwood Collegiate Cup in Palm Desert, Calif. and Los Angeles, Calif. on Saturday.

After a successful weekend in singles for sophomore Uros Petronijevic, TCU's Facundo Lugones took the final of the NCTC 6-4, 6-2.

Doubles team Clarke Spinosa and Filip Vittek also made the finals of their draw at the Sherwood Collegiate Cup defeating USC's seeded Connor Farren and Roberto Quiroz 8-6, but lost in a hard-fought battle against Stanford's John Morrissey and Maciek Romanowicz 8-5.

"Great first weekend for our squad," Coach Brett Masi noted after the weekend. "Got a lot of matches and gained some confidence hopefully for next weekend. Would love to have brought home some hardware but happy with how we competed as a whole. Big weekend coming up!"

The Toreros return to action Jan. 24th at the ITA National Indoor Qualifier in Malibu, Calif.
