SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Thomas Olsen, the goalkeeper for the USD men's soccer team, was named to the U-20 U.S. National Team roster for the 2015 FIFA World Cup to be played in New Zealand May 30-June 20.
Olsen was one of three goalkeepers named to the 21-player roster by Head Coach Tab Ramos. He is coming off an impressive rookie campaign where he was named WCC Freshman of the Year and helped lead the Toreros to their second WCC Championship in the past three years.
The U.S. was drawn into Group A with host New Zealand, Ukraine and Myanmar. The team opens group play against Myanmar at 12 a.m. ET on May 30 in Whangarei, followed by matches with New Zealand on June 2 and Ukraine on June 5, both of which will be played in Auckland. All of the U.S.'s group matches will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1 and NBC Universo.
