Toreros Fall out of Contention in ITA Southwest Regionals

San Diego, Calif. - Toreros ITA Southwest Regionals play has come to an end after the final two doubles fell in the third round of play Saturday afternoon. With all the singles being eliminated yesterday, only 2 teams from San Diego were still competing at the Barnes Tennis Center.

Kati Kukaras and Danila Morales took on a duo from Loyola Marymount Saturday morning at 9 a.m. After a tough fought match, they fell 8-0 and will not be advancing in the tournament.

Nicole Anderson and Carolin Nonnenmacher, another pair from USD, were pitted against a 5th seeded duo from USC. They kept it close throughout the match, but ultimately fell 8-6.

There were some successes by the singles in the consolation rounds. Maria-Paula Torres kept her consolation match interesting with Constance Branstine from USC but took a win after going 2-6, 7-5, 10-5. Additionally, Torero Sophia Chow defeated Carlota Casasampere from Long Beach State with a 7-5, 6-0 match.
