Do you have school spirit? Love to cheer? Are you a competitive level cheerleader who wants to pursue it at the collegiate level? Now, is your opportunity to be a part of the nationally ranked USD Cheer Team!

Cheer for our Torero champions at Torero football games, basketball games and other Games and events! Get involved in the USD student community and the surrounding San Diego community. USD Athletics is excited to announce Tryouts for the 2018-2019 USD Cheer Team.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018!

TRYOUT INFORMATION

Date: Sunday, May 6th, 2018

Time: 9 am doors & registration open
Where: Jenny Craig Pavilion

Please wear:

  • A sports bra or fitted tank top and fitted shorts

  • Tennis shoes/cheer shoes

  • Make-up should be done as if you were at a performance. (We wear lashes, full face makeup and red lipstick)

  • Hair may be however you would like with a bow

  • No jewelry. All body piercings must be removed for auditions

What to bring:

  • Completed tryout application (forms available online)

  • Signed contract page

  • Headshot to attach to Tryout Application

  • Water bottle, snacks, towel

  • Checkbook or cash with Team fees

Tryout Process

  • All necessary forms and application will be available online PRIOR to tryouts. All forms and paperwork are required to audition. Please have them completed PRIOR to your arrival. Please also attach a headshot photo to your

  • Number of cuts is based on the number of people

  • The judging and scoring process will be explained on the day of

  • Individual interviews will be conducted before the final

USD Cheer Tryouts! SUNDAY, MAY 6th, 2018

Requirements:

Each cheerleader is required to attend summer camp, that we will be attending on July 30th- August 4th as a team. We will meet at USD on the 30th by 3 pm and we will practice July 30th-Aug 1st then we will drive/fly to Las Vegas for camp. Details and more information will be provided in the coming weeks. You will be able to fly back home Aug 4th after 3 pm and will need to return to campus for practices starting on Aug 27th. Please be back by 5 pm.

***Important: Please thoroughly read and review our team contract. Once you sign it, it is binding and you are held accountable for it. Please be sure to have your parent or guardian read and sign it as well. This includes everyone, even if you are 18 and older.***
