Sydney Hunter is one of three freshmen joining the USD women's basketball team for the 2017-18 season. As a senior at McNary High School (Keizer, Ore.), Hunter averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, 2.5 steals and one block per game and led the state in rebounding.

Hunter was named to the All-Greater Valley Conference for the third year in a row and to the American Family Insurance All-USA Mid-Valley First Team.
