SAN DIEGO - San Diego added one more member to its team this season with the addition of, Jacob George, after practice on Thursday in the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Jacob, a 13-year-old from Escondido, California, joins the Toreros as part of Team IMPACT, a national nonprofit that matches children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses with college sports teams to foster confidence, optimism and a sense of belonging.

Jacob is courageously battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia and signed his National Letter of Intent during a post-practice press conference held in the Jenny Craig Pavilion media room in front of his family and new teammates. Remarks were made by head coach,
Sam Scholl.

Jacob was then escorted to the team locker room where he was given his own locker, a USD jersey and gear for the upcoming season.
