Berry Earns All-Region Honors

Junior forward honored for second straight year

SAN DIEGO— Miguel Berry was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region second team for the second year in a row as announced Wednesday by the organization. 
 
Berry adds to his list of accolades for the 2018 season after earning All-WCC first team honors as well as being named to the WCC All-Academic team.
 
The junior forward started all 19 matches for San Diego in the 2018 season and was responsible for fifty percent of the Toreros' offense. Berry finished the season with eight goals, tying his career high (2016), two assists and a career-high 18 points. He went 2-for-3 in penalty kicks and had four game-winning goals.
 
Berry was among the top offensive threats in the conference, ranking second in shots (59) and shots per game (3.11). He also ended the season ranked in game winners (third), goals (fourth) and points (sixth).
 
Berry helped lead the Toreros (7-7-5) to a fourth-place finish in the WCC in a season that featured a 2-1 win over Pacific and 1-1 draws with both No. 4 Saint Mary's and No. 7 Portland—all of which participated in the NCAA College Cup.
