SAN DIEGO â€" San Diego women's tennis swept San Jose State on Wednesday in a 4-0 victory. Gemma Garcia continued her streak on the singles court with her seventh consecutive win.
The Toreros won on courts one and two to clinch the doubles point and earn an early lead.
Garcia won the first match of singles play when she beat Laura Malsert 6-3, 6-2. She improved her singles record to 14-10 and earned her seventh straight win.
Daniela Morales, at the No. 3 position, defeated Kobayashi 6-2, 6-2.
Carolin Nonnenmacher clinched the win for USD at the No. 6 spot, when she defeated Savannah Sendar 7-5, 6-3.
This is USD's third shutout of the season.
On Sunday, the women get back to conference play in Provo, Utah against BYU at 12 p.m.
